The Bakehouse Restaurant

Located in the most historic part of Penzance, the Bakehouse is tucked away in its own secluded palm-filled courtyard. The Bakehouse is set on two floors, each with its own atmosphere. It is modern and contemporary yet warm and inviting, with displays showcasing local artists. Since 2004 owners Andy and Rachel Carr have been delighting their customers with the quality of their food and service. They are passionate about using only the best Cornish ingredients, sourcing their produce as locally as possible. The philosophy has been to take fantastic produce, cook it simply and let its flavour and quality shine. The food is colourful and bold, and the flexibility of the menu ensures that there is always something for everyone. It has the best selection of chargrilled steaks Penzance has to offer alongside the finest fish Newlyn fishermen can catch! The Bakehouse has been included in The Good Food Guide and held a Trip advisor certificate of excellence every year since 2012.

Acclaim

The Bakehouse really deserves the excellent reviews. We were staying in Newlyn and looking for some place a bit special for a Saturday evening, and this restaurant was perfect. The atmosphere is very relaxed, but at the same time there is an attention to detail which makes for a great dining experience. As others have commented, the staff are excellent, being obviously knowledgeable both in terms of the food and drinks. They take good care of diners even while the restaurant is busy, with lots of people hoping to get a table at the last minute. The food is first class – I had Thai monkfish and the Hake, and both were full of flavour. Thanks to all of the team for a great evening.”
