From 1 – 6 September 2026, Penzance comes alive with the Tapas Trail, a celebration of the brilliant food, independent spirit and creative flavours that make this town such a special place to eat, drink and explore.
And the best bit? Every Tapas Trail dish is £5 or less.
So forget the three-course meal. Forget choosing just one place. This is your invitation to eat your way around Penzance, one irresistible little dish at a time.
Pick up your Tapas Trail Card from participating venues and selected locations around town, then set off and discover what’s cooking.
Perhaps you’ll start with something sweet and fruity. Wander down towards the Promenade for a bite with one of the finest sea views in the world. Explore the streets, discover a hidden gem or two, then head towards Chapel Street for another Cornish-inspired creation.
The beauty of the Tapas Trail is that there’s no right way to do it.

And if that isn’t enough to tempt your taste buds, the Tapas Trail coincides with the PZ Food Festival, running from 3 – 6 September, 10am–8pm, in the beautiful surroundings of Penlee Park.
Sponsored by Penzance BID and Love Penzance, the festival is a celebration of everything that makes Cornwall such an exciting place to eat, drink and produce great food.
Following last year’s roaring success, this year’s festival promises even more to discover, with live cookery demonstrations from top Cornish chefs, relaxed workshops, fantastic live music into the evening and loads of mouthwatering food from local producers.
It’s the perfect opportunity to make a day, or several days of it.
Taste your way around the Tapas Trail. Head to Penlee Park for the Food Festival. Stop for a coffee, discover a new restaurant, grab something from an independent food business and make a few delicious discoveries of your own.
Because Penzance’s food scene isn’t just about one week in September.
